Welcome to our world!
D-Foam, Incorporated was founded in 1999 as a technology development
company.  As our name implies, industrial process foaming abatement was our
first target.  We selected
amine sweetening as our first subject process because it
was employed by several different industries, was essentially a closed loop
system, and had a long history of costly foaming problems.  We also had over 20
years of experience troubleshooting separations problems associated with
sweetening unit feed and recirculating solution contamination.

It became obvious that equipment we developed to study foaming phenomena
would also help mitigate the problem on the plant level.  Our patented
SigmaPure
technology was introduced in 2001.  SigmaPure has made it possible to continue
our research while simultaneously helping our customers mitigate their operational
emergencies caused by foaming.

D-Foam's approach has had to be unique.  What started out as a research
project rapidly evolved into a full scale
solutions effort.  We combine proprietary
technology, bench level laboratory research, and plant level process
troubleshooting expertise to define immediate foaming problems.  That means that
we can work closely with the plant's highly qualified operations and engineering
personnel to determine the most efficient plant specific solutions.  This process
normally includes a close interaction with other plant technical resources like
solvent suppliers, engineering contractors, and support consultants.

D-Foam's combination of study with practical, real time solutions has led to our
success solving foaming problems in plants worldwide.  One of the most satisfying
aspects of these efforts has been uncovering straight forward explanations for
events responsible for over 100 years of accumulated urban legends.

This is the first picture of an amine solution foaming, in-situ, while
recirculating through an operating plant.  It was taken from the bull's eye
located on the SigmaPure foaming column during treating.  If the solution
is foaming in the plant, you can SEE it during treating.
